Tristra Newyear Yeager has worked for nearly two decades in media relations for creative people and innovative companies, crafting PR strategy and written assets for clients at every stage of the business cycle and the creative process. With over 20 years of writing, editing, and research experience plus a PhD to her name, she’s known for synthesizing copious amounts of knowledge at the speed of light and transforming it into accessible, pitchable articles and ideas.

She has ghostwritten op-eds that have appeared in national and international music trades and mainstream newspapers and magazines, and has gotten her clients stories in key outlets, including The New York Times, NPR, The Atlantic, Wall Street Journal, BBC, and The New Yorker. She also regularly hosts a music industry podcast focusing on ideas and innovation.

A creative herself, she has a profound interest in exploring the details and lived experiences of the past and imagining how those lost moments speak to our collective future. She is the author of The Tomb and the Stone, a historical fantasy about the search for the tomb of Genghis Khan, and Starfall, a sci-fi-meets-historical-fiction novel centered on the utopian town of New Harmony, IN. Unable to leave academic research behind, she also continues to write, publish, and present articles about Siberian history, as well as translate scholarly books and essays into English.
